Gateway Hotel – Hotel near airport in Dubai

My stay at the hotel was a mix of good and not so great experiences. The rooms were clean, but I had a frustrating encounter with the night manager regarding bringing a friend over. The street-side room was manageable but had a musty smell that I couldn't tolerate, and even though I requested a room change, there were no available options. This led me to have to book another hotel for the evening, costing me extra money on top of my accommodation expenses. A bit disappointing considering I only spent a few hours in the hotel due to an early flight the next day.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Bur Dubai, surrounded by restaurants and shopping centers, making it ideal for business and leisure trips. While the rooms were clean and presentable with unique arrangements of 3 single beds, they might benefit from a deep clean. The service, mainly provided by foreign staff, was polite, but there is room for improvement in friendliness and approachability. The location near the creek offers easy access to attractions, although construction work nearby may disturb some visitors. The dining experience needs some organization and improvement in terms of variety and service. Overall, the hotel offers a convenient location but may need enhancements in cleanliness, service, and dining.

I found the hotel to be a nice place to stay overall, but there were some ups and downs. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff was helpful despite a minor issue with additional charges. The location was convenient, although not ideal for beach holidays, and the dining experience had its highlights with a few shortcomings. The facilities were decent, with room for improvement in certain areas.

I had a great time at this hotel. The location was superb, right in the center of shopping places near Gold Souk and Meena Bazar. The rooms were spacious with a king bed, 2 chairs, and a desk with a mirror. However, the staff was a bit unfriendly, especially towards vegetarians. The screeching of chairs in the restaurant above our room during breakfast hours was quite bothersome.

Staying at this hotel was a great experience overall. The rooms were perfect for a double bed room, spacious, and spotless, and Bishnu, our housekeeping attendant, did a fantastic job. The service was exceptional, with the staff being very co-operative and extremely helpful. The location was convenient, close to the Metro station, souq, and shopping centers. The dining options were somewhat satisfying, offering a decent range of choices. However, the lack of shade and distance from the Metro station were drawbacks.
